she has led teams and product at mountain hardwear, pearl izumi, techShop & ekso bionics, and was most recently an assistant professor of product design at the university of oregon. she has an mfa in design from stanford and a bs in fiber science and apparel design from cornell.

he began his first startup in college specializing in robotic camera motion, and later worked on high-precision r&d with medtronic, lockheed martin, and nasa. he has a bs in mechanical engineering from the university of colorado.

He is Stanford’s Donald W. Whittier Professor in Mechanical Engineering and has been teaching classes within the School of Engineering for more than 35 years. His most enduring contributions are in human-centered design methodology and design thinking.

He has been a Consulting Assistant Professor at Stanford University since 1984. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Design Program where he manages the undergraduate and graduate degree-granting programs and advises 70 - 100 students annually.
